Case Study : Content Management
Client: Watermark ID
Category: Product Design | Manufacturing
Website: watermarkid.com
Description: The custom designs division of Watermark Designs works with designers, architects and engineers to design and produce custom bath fittings and accessories.
Challenge
Watermark wanted a minimalist and functional website to illustrate the processes involved in engineering a custom product from design through finished product. They also wanted to showcase finished projects, highlight case studies and be able to easily update the entire website themselves.
Results
- Minimalist, yet functional front-end and back-end design. Beautiful, custom graphics creates an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that reinforces quality standards and appeals to the Designers, Architects and Developers that Watermark works with.
- Content Management System (CMS) and Web Application designed and built from scratch to match exact business needs. Client exclaimed how easy it was to use the back-end control panel to create new project pages, update and edit the website. It was so simple and intuitive, that it took less than 15 minutes for the client to learn to use the system.
- Cross linking to the parent company directed additional traffic and attention to other product solutions offered by Watermark Designs.
- Watermark was presented with a flexible, state-of-the-art, bug-free web application that is still relevant and functioning seamlessly today . . . several years later.
The Work
- After meeting with Watermark to establish a clear set of objectives and goals for the project, we presented Watermark with the concept of a custom Project Photo Gallery to meet key site objectives of showcasing finished projects and allowing users to sort and find projects by Name, Location, Architect/Designer or Developer.
- We planned the Database Design, Site Structure and crafted the Database Schema, Information Architecture Flow Charts and Wireframes of both the front and back-end to ensure all functionality was incorporated into the Web Application and Visual Design.
- This high-end site needed quality graphics. We created a series of abstract photo montages to illustrate the design and engineering process and used them throughout the site.
- Visual mockups were created in Photoshop, Technical Specifications were written and all website interface elements and graphics were prepared and organized before turning the project over to the tech team we selected and hired to build it.
- We ensured the Tech Team met all project criteria by carefully reviewing and testing all aspects of the project throughout the development process.
